HP updated the firmware in March/April 2026 on all models that use HP 305 series ink cartridges if the auto-update was on.
(most models would have updated)
However, we now have the latest Premium 305xl cartridges that hold 18ml of black and 18ml of colour
(6ml per colour).
These cartridges have a new Electric patch which will give ink levels and been reset to work with this latest update.
Remember the original HP 305XL Black only has 4ml of ink and the HP 305XL Colour holds 1.25ml per colour.
